Just a few tips to consider for
your next camping adventure!

Tip 1:

Your region is sure to have several parks perfect for your next adventure. Visit the National Park Service website to find a great camping spot near you! www.nps.gov

Tip 2:

Almost any camping site is susceptible to deer, raccoons or other animals that may be interested in your food stash. Never leave any food out at your campsite.

Tip 3:

Leave the computer at home! Card games, charades, I-spy, camp songs, a good book, a flying disc or football toss are just a few ways to enjoy a carefree and technology-free adventure.

Tip 4:

Whether you come across a lake, river or stream—a little water can provide hours of fun for the whole family. Everyone, including Fido, likes to do a little splashing or wading. Fishing or skipping rocks can provide a little friendly competition and is fun for all ages.

Tip 5:

Sun protection is essential for all outdoor activities. Slather on the sunscreen, cover with light-weight clothing and top it off with a brimmed hat and some cool shades.

Tip 6:

Camping is great for family bonding. Ensure the experience is great for everyone by letting each person choose a camping activity for the family to do.

Tip 7:

Geocaching is a real-life treasure hunting game where you use GPS-enabled devices to find a hidden "geocache" or container--then you share your experience online. Geocaches are located all over the world, so log on to geocaching.com if you are up to the challenge!

Tip 8:

Can’t get away? Set up camp in the back yard for a fun family night! Try to figure out what those night time animal and insect sounds are; find all the constellations in the night sky or have fun making some up!
